burst

this morning the sun is rising over a bed of trees. its light is wonderfully veiled by clouds that blend in and out of the sky. each minute changes the way the sun reveals itself, getting more intense. ready to burst. it colors clouds that you wouldn't even know were there- until they shine a different way.
it is a glory too much for the eyes now. but so beautiful- so soft around the edges.
fog moves across the lake like a river flowing. the horizon as it comes to life is such a deep blue and purple. so soft that you want to lay on it. so beautiful you don't want to disturb it.
the sky is painted with texture.
soft and wispy like cotton ripped.
long and sleek like a painter's brush.
faint, intense, unobtrusive, like color that wasn't mixed well enough and snuck onto the canvas.
you can tell it's cold by the way the world looks today
every shade of blue and grey is here.
but not in a sad kind of way
they are perfect colors to let the sun shine
i want to watch the world awaken
to not miss the beginning of the day.

Though she only posts once every six months, Christine is an up-and-coming blogger to watch. Her photography is stunning, her words are fresh and evocative, and the combination is sure to delight many a reader. All of this with a borrowed camera... imagine what she could do with her own! I'm sure we will see many more brilliant descriptions of natural events from this bright young mind, who is experiencing her own sunrise...stay tuned.
